Combine two of Turkey's most well-known historical locations on this 2-day visit to the Gallipoli Battlefields and the ancient city of Troy, which includes an overnight stay. After exploring the historic Gallipoli battlefields of World War I, including Brighton Beach, ANZAC Cove, and the Johnston's Jolly trenches, learn about the stories of Troy, which is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List, as you visit the Trojan Horse, the Sacrificial Altars, and the Houses of Troy I.
FIRST DAY-
06:30 am pick up from hotel by bus to the Gallipoli Peninsula after hotel pickup in Istanbul. Having breakfast along the road, we board the ferry to Canakkale after midday. We will delve into more than 5000 years of history as we tour the fabled city and UNESCO World Heritage Site of Troy. This historic city was the setting for Homer's Iliad and Odyssey, and the Hitites originally referred to it as Wilusa. The fortification walls of Troy Vl with its tower and gateway entrance, the Temple of Athena - the center of a major annual festival in honor of the goddess Athena - the entrance ramp to Troy ll, and the Odeon are all to be seen. You can also visit an information center about the ongoing excavations and exhibits. We take a ferry back to the hotel on the Asian side of the Dardanelles after the trip. While staying the night at Eceabat, unwind.
SECOND DAY-
We start the full-day Gallipoli Tour after breakfast at the hotel. We'll go to Brighton Beach, Hell Split, Beach Cemetery, and John Simpson's Grave. After lunch, we see the cemeteries at Anzac Cove, Ariburnu, and Anzac Cove as well as the Australian memorial and cemetery in Lone Pine. The notorious Nek cemetery, the Chunuk Bair New Zealand Memorial and cemetery, and even some historic tunnels and trenches at Johnston's Jolly are all accessible along the Artillery Road. After the tour, we head back to Istanbul and drop you off at your hotel in the late afternoon or evening. Your 2-day trip to Troy and Gallipoli has come to an end.
